Sunny trying to be different
Big Brother saw him throwing away goons into the sky with easy and Fool N Final saw him doing some comedy. Rather he was still an actino here yet comical while he tried to woo Sameera Reddy.
Sunny dabbling in commedy comes much after many other actors of his league have tried their hands in it. “Comedies were in vogue earlier as well. It’s just that they weren’t spoken about as they are today,” said Sunny in an interview.

After Fool N Final, Sunny has Apne coming up which will see him sharing scene with papa dharmendra brother Bobby. This movie will be about a joint family and will show Sunny playing a family man – a son, a husband and a brother. "It (Apne) is about the issues and happenings in a joint family. Some bitterness cropping up in the family doesn't mean that people don't love each other. It has boxing as its backdrop," Sunny said in another interview.
After teh not so good response for FNF, Sunny should have huge aspirations from Apne hoping it to pull him out of his drooping box office standings. “Everyone goes through a lean patch. So did I before Big Brother. Don’t forget Anilji made Gadar, one of the biggest hits ever. I’m sure Apne will be massive,” said Sunny in a recent interview.
Sunny also has another film Kaafila lined up which portrays a man caught in difficult circumstances. The Challenge which might release any time soon will see Sunny as an action hero but then this cannot be termed as a return to action as this is a film signed right after the success of Gadar.
Looking at his line up it surely looks like Sunny is trying for a major shuffle in image. And this might be a clever decision keeping in mind his age. At 51 years, Sunny surely does not hold good as a macho hero he once was. Continuing in the same genre would mean falling from a list of top line actors to starring in B-grade films, which were associated with Mithun Chakrabarty till recently.
