Patience goes burst!

I met this family on train last week when i was returning from Guwhati to Bangalore. They got up somewhere in Orissa and were travelling short distance... those ticketless travellers.
They came and sat in the same compartment as me. The father - who would be aged somewhere around 40 picks up a conversatino with a fellow passenger who was going to Andhra.
After some time this guy happens to ask the Oriya guy if he could call up a freind to let him know that he would be reaching by the evening. He said that his sim card is from Assam and hence was not working in Orissa.
All fine and suddenly this Oriya guys asks " You coming from Assam? The money you are carrying... is it from Assam as well?"
Twang... there goes my patience bulb... first I hate ticketless travellers and now he asks if Assam has a seperate currency! What do you think I should have done? Let it pass or let him know that Assam was a part of India.. at leats as of now??
I chose the latter and then this gentlemen... all ashamed sayd "I know it's a part of India..."
Abbey Idiot... Does Orissa have a seperate currency?
I would have let it pass as I have come across many such fools. But this one looked an educated man with jeans clad kids and aa wife wearing gold!
Let me make it clear I have nothing against Oriya people... but Yes I hate the attitude of Indians.

  1. i agree with u but just one thing i'd like u to keep a note of:

whether in india or anywhere else,
being jeans clad and wearing gold
    does not make one educated

BTW this is the root cause of indian thinking...
we tend to assume people who dress well, as well educated

while the fact is there is a hell lot of difference in being educated and being literate.

  2. well.. when i said jeans clad and gold wearing... it was more of a generalisation of their behaviour... which otherwise also included english speaking capability..

at the same time i like what you say abt being an educated illeterate...

  4. The point is ..these are the people which are disliked even Oriya fellows..so casting a person an hate symbol for a community is incorrect...and another thing is...these type of people leave every part of this world..even they may reside ny your neighourhood also....

Regarding your statement...that Assam ..is till now in India...what does this means!!!Do you think that Assam and its people are showing mercy being an Indian!!!!

  5. dude... i did not mean all Oriya's are like that... but yes i would not mind saying that the general IQ level of people across india isnt that great about the North east... as they never read about the place or its history liek the people from northeast do about the reast of india...
trust me, any educated guy from Assam would know where Puri is.. and here i am talkin about edicated people (which includes their capability to speak in english)

and regarding my statement that Assam still a part of india... buddy.. if you understand there has been organisations fighting for soveriegnty of the region... which i wont say i support... But yes India almost gave away the northe east to the chinese in war.. so you know what security we have...
