A Sonnet of Heresy
False gods we worship, idols of our own,
Deified heretics, their teachings sown.
To question all, a sacred right we claim,
Yet saints we shun, avoiding guilt and shame.
The enemy we praise, the friend we scorn,
A twisted logic, where our hearts are torn.
A new world dawns, where old beliefs decay,
As prophecy unfolds, a fateful day.
The man who saw, the war of mankind's might,
Against itself, a tragic, endless fight.
A battle waged, where truth is lost to strife,
As heresy consumes the very core of life.
